Day 1: MARRAKECH – ATLAS MOUNTAIN – KASBAH AIT BEN HADDOU – ZAGORA
You will be picked up from your hotel in Marrakech around 07h30 AM for your shared 2-day desert tour to Zagora. Sit back and enjoy the ride as you pass through the Tizi Ntichka pass (2260 m. alt) and different adobe Berber villages. You may even see locals herding their goats! There will be a stop in the middle of the High Atlas Mountains so you can take some pictures, stretch your legs or have a cup of coffee. Upon arrival at Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, you will have some free time to explore this UNESCO world heritage site and its famous fortified village. This village was used as a set for various Biblical epics and a backdrop for commercial and modeling photoshoots. If you wish to join the group on a guided tour, there is an extra fee of €3.00 per person. After the visit to the Kasbah, you will have an hour’s lunch break at leisure. From here, we will
continue driving past Ouarzazate and cross the Northeastern parts of the Anti-Atlas Mountains to the oasis of Agdz. After a quick stop in the village center, you’ll be ready to admire one amazing scenery after another. Drive along Draa Valley, where you’ll see fortified Kasbahs and oases dotted with hundreds of thousands of date palm trees. Draa Valley is home to the largest palm tree plantation in Morocco. You’ll arrive at the Zagora desert late in the afternoon, where you’ll meet your camel caravan. Your camel trekking adventure will begin through the Zagora desert, and you’ll get to experience an amazing sunset camel ride for about an hour. Please note that there are barely any sand dunes in Zagora. Just before it gets dark, you’ll drive your camels to our Berber desert camp nestled in the middle of nowhere. You’re in for a treat tonight! A delicious Moroccan dinner will be served at your Bedouin camp, followed by an incredible drums performance next to the campfire.
Your local desert nomad hosts will play and sing traditional folklore music until around midnight. Feel free to learn about the stars and constellations or just enjoy the peace and quiet of the desert under the crystal-clear night sky.

Day 2: ZAGORA – OUARZAZATE – ATLAS MOUNTAN – MARRAKECH
Your camp hosts will wake you up early in the morning to watch the sunrise. After breakfast, you’ll ride your camels again to meet your vehicle and driver on the main road. From there, you will depart for Ouarzazate, where we’ll stop for lunch at a local café and visit Taourirt Kasbah optional – depending on timing, entrance fees apply. Early in the afternoon, you’ll drive back to Marrakech crossing the High Atlas Mountains. Your overnight desert tour from Marrakech to Zagora will end around 19h00 in the summer and 20h00 in the winter.

I couldn’t believe how much was packed into this 2-day tour for such a reasonable price. From the gorgeous scenery to the cultural insights and the amazing campfire in the desert, every moment was unforgettable. The guides were professional and ensured everyone felt comfortable throughout. I’d recommend this tour to solo travelers and groups alike!

This tour was the highlight of our holiday to Marrakech. It was so relaxing taking in the beautiful silence of the desert. The kids had the best time. Highly recommend. And our driver was the most lovely, friendly guide. Look forward to more tours with Go Marrakech Desert Trips in the future.

Terrific experience, best driver/guide and best places, 100% reliable. Do not just choose the packages on the website – call on WhatsApp and Mr. Abderrahom the owner will work with you/advise you how to best customize your trip. In cities guided tours are highly recommended – you will save a lot of time. We only had 4 days so we did a 2-day desert tour to Zagora with luxury tent (well worth the upcharge). Incredible, genuine spots along the road (kasbahs, movie studios in Ouarzazate). Big thanks!

This was my first time visiting a desert, and it was everything I hoped for and more. The camel ride was a unique experience, and the camp setup was cozy and welcoming. The guides shared fascinating stories about the Berber way of life, which added so much depth to the trip. Perfect for anyone visiting Morocco for the first time!

I recommend this agency.
They were very transparent, they presented from the beginning of the booking all the details, the price, what is included, what is not included, what other costs may appear from the not included things. The tour price was fair for what it offered. We had some minimum extra costs for some guided tours, but we knew about it from the beginning (it was less than 10 eur per person). I appreciated the transparency of this agency.
In the end, I must say you will have a lot of fun with your driver yassin. This trip was totally worth it.
The camp were very nice and clean. Good breakfast and dinner

This tour was the perfect way to experience the Moroccan desert without taking too much time away from my busy schedule. The drive through the High Atlas was stunning, and the visit to Ait Benhaddou was like stepping into history. The Berber camp was cozy, and the traditional dinner was delicious. A great mix of adventure and relaxation—don’t miss it!

In general a very positive experience of Sahara, fantastic camel ride by sunset and sunrise, it was also nice to visit ait ben haddou and the Oaurzazate as well. Be prepared to a very intense on the road experience (more than 14 hours in the minibus over the two days). Luckily the stops along the route are well planned, more or less one stop every 2 hours of driving.
Our driver Yssin was very friendly and helpful throughout the whole trip. He’s for sure an experienced driver and managed to make the trip the most safe and comfortable as possible.
One negative point is for sure the choice of restaurants around the route, generally of mediocre quality and usually more expensive than comparable moroccan restaurants.
Another point that maybe was not crystal clear from the trip description is the fact that you’ll probably have to share the tent in the desert with strangers. Anyway the camp is run by very helpful and kind people that’ll try to do their best to satisfy everyone’s need

Excellent trip all organised from the UK by communicating with Abderrahim by email. We had a shared tour and our driver, Mustafa, was excellent spoke excellent English and was extremely accommodating – recommending things to do and doing what we wanted to do when we wanted to do it. The drive both to and from Zagora was excellent – a very safe driver – and the restaurants were excellent. The camp was fun and they had even organised to cater for a vegan traveler in our party of 4. Would 100% recommend this tour and this tour company. We will use them again when we return to Morocco – to do a longer trip. Thanks and Abderrahim for an excellent 2 days.

My 2-day Zagora Desert Tour from Marrakech was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The journey through the Atlas Mountains was breathtaking, and the camel trek at sunset was magical. Sleeping under the stars in the Berber camp was a highlight of my trip to Morocco. Everything was well-organized, and the guides were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a short yet immersive desert adventure!

If you’re short on time but want to see the Moroccan desert, this tour is ideal. The staff was extremely accommodating, the transportation was comfortable, and the itinerary was well-paced. Watching the sunrise in the desert on the second day was absolutely breathtaking. Can’t recommend this enough!
